Homecoming Court Presentation 2020

Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome to Edinburg North High School’s Homecoming night.  Tonight, we present to you our 2020 Homecoming Court.

The nominees were each selected by their peers to represent their respective organization, and the Edinburg North student body voted to decide our ENHS 2020 Homecoming King and Queen.

Representing Football are:

Miss Evana Ramos, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Enrique and Patricia Ramos. 
Evana is a member of the Lady Cougar Varsity Volleyball team, the Varsity Track team, and FFA. Evana plans to attend to attend UTRGV where she will major in Medicine and play volleyball for the Valley Vaqueros.

Evana is being escorted by

Mr. Michael Rodriguez, son of Mr. & Mrs. Mike and Christina Rodriguez. Michael is a member of the Cougar Varsity Football team, Varsity Track team, and FFA.  Michael plans to enlist in the United States Marines.

Representing Cheerleading are:

Miss Kayla Hinojosa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert and Marlene Hinojosa. Kayla is a member the ENHS Varsity Cheer Team and Varsity Orchestra. Kayla plans to attend the University of Incarnate Word and major in Chemistry in hopes of later attending pharmacy school.

Kayla is being escorted by

Mr. Aurelio Lozano, son of Ms. Cecilia Gonzalez. Aurelio is a member of the Cougar Varsity Football Team. Aurelio plans to attend to attend UTRGV to major in Sports Science.

Representing the Golden Spurs are:

Miss Daphne Cantu, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Juan and Nelda Cantu. Daphne has been a member of the ENHS Varsity Track Team for four years and is the Golden Spurs Major. Daphne plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University and major in Education.

Daphne is being escorted by

Mr. Nathaniel Elijah Duenas, son of Mr. Ernesto Duenas and Mrs. Belinda Gonzalez. Nathaniel is a member of the Cougar Basketball Team. Nathaniel plans to attend The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley and major in Business.

Representing Band are:

Miss Daynara Lamar Gutierrez, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce and Anita Gutierrez. Daynara is a member of National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society. Daynara plans to attend Baylor University and major in Chemistry.

Daynara is being escorted by

Mr. Marc Anthony Silva, son of Ms. Claudia Gallegos. Marc is a member of the Mighty Cougar Band and Science National Honor Society. Marc plans to attend Texas State University and major in Marketing-Advertising and Business.

Representing Choir are:

Miss Carla Galvan, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Carlos and Maria Elena Galvan
Carla is a member of the Edinburg North Choir and the Cougar Color Guard. Carla plans to attend The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley and major in Biological and Biomedical Science.

Carla is being escorted by

Mr. Justin Alvarez, son of Ms. Jennifer Alvarez. Justin is a member of the Edinburg North Choir and the Mighty Cougar Band. Justin plans to attend Texas State University and major in Music Education.

Representing ROTC are:

Miss Selena Castañon, daughter of Mr. Jorge Castañon and Ms. Maribel Ramirez. Selena is a member of National Honor Society and Edinburg North’s ROTC. Selena plans to enlist in the United States Navy.

Selena is being escorted by

Mr. Evan Martinez, son of Ms. Brissa Ramirez. Evan is a member of Edinburg North’s ROTC. Evan plans to enlist in the United States Army.

Representing FFA are:

Miss Kayla Ramirez, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Feliciano and Eliamar Ramirez. Kayla is a member of National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society. Kayla plans to attend Texas A&M Kingsville and major in Animal Science.

Kayla is being escorted by

Mr. Derek de la Garza, son of Mr. & Mrs. Sam and Minnie de la Garza. Derek is a member of the Future Farmers of America Program and the Cougar Varsity Golf Team. Derek plans to attend Texas A&M College Station and major in Construction Science with a minor in Business.

Representing Student Council are:

Miss Alondra Hernandez, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jaime and Susana Hernandez. Alondra is a member of the Cougar Math UIL Team, is the President of Science National Honor Society, and is the Student Council Secretary. Alondra plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in Chemical Engineering.

Alondra is escorted by

Mr. Bryan Ramirez, son of Mr. & Mrs. Feliciano and Eliamar Ramirez. Bryan is a member of National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and is the Student Council Treasurer. Bryan plans to attend Texas A&M College Station and major in Biochemistry.

Representing Early College are:

Miss Sariah Ariel Garza, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Omar and Jennifer Garza. Sariah is a member of Science National Honor Society and the Lady Cougar Basketball Team. Sariah plans to attend Texas State University and major in Microbiology.

Sariah is escorted by

Mr. Roque Alaniz, son of Mr. & Mrs. Roque and Teresa Alaniz. Roque is a member of Science National Honor Society and the Early College Program. Roque plans to attend The University of Texas at Dallas and major in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Crowning our 2020 Homecoming Prince & Princess are Mrs. Catherine Cobos, Dean of Instruction, escorted by Mr. Jose Chapa, Assistant Principal.

With the honor of crowning our 2020 Homecoming King & Queen, we have Edinburg North High School’s 2020 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Cynthia Scott, escorted by Mr. Mark Micallef, principal of Edinburg North High School.

And now, for the moment that we’ve all been waiting for:

•	The 2020 Homecoming Prince is Roque Alaniz
•	The 2020 Homecoming Princess is Daphne Cantu
•	The 2020 Homecoming King is Marc Silva
•	The 2020 Homecoming Queen is Daynara Gutierrez

The Student Council sponsors, Mrs. Amanda Cardoza and Mrs. Sandra Morales, would like to extend their gratitude to the following organizations for making the 2020 Homecoming presentation a success: Football, Cheer, Golden Spurs, Band, Choir, ROTC, Early College, and FFA.

They would also like to thank the ENHS administration for all their help and support in making this event possible, and a BIG thank you to all the Cougar fans!
